Ouran High School Host Club is a twenty six episode anime directed by Igarashi Takuya. Why talk about it? Well, because the anime is so kawaii and full of laughs. I have watched this anime a long time ago and I had to re-watch it for a project in Sociology. What is the connection of the anime and my sociology subject? Hmm, well, we had to choose a movie -i chose an anime, pasaway juhd- where sociological concepts are found. I had a hard time thinking what movie but when I finished the draft for my project I though What the hell, all movies contain sociological concepts. Fine, I won't dawdle any longer and I promise not to start blabbering things out of frustration. So here's my opinions to the series Ouran High School Host Club or Ouran Koukou Host Club. The Series starts with a girl who difinitely looks like a guy, walking aimlessly from library to library looking for a place to study. Funny thing is, she ended up to third music room, which happens to be Ouran host club's office. Maybe this is the part where I should Explain the character's roles extensively and how they make this anime a superb one.

First, the main character, Fujioka Haruhi, a girl posing as a guy for the host club. She wants to be a lawyer like her deceased mother. She is smart but naive on things such as romance, which allows the viewers to laugh at the futile efforts of some members of the club who fell for her. She also doesn't show emotions that much which is kinda wierd. She is also a very honest type of person whose words might be insulting but she means well. One of the most interesting part of this series is that Haruhi falls in love with one of the six other members of the club but she doesn't know anything about love which adds to the comedy part of the story.

Next in line, Suou Tamaki the host club king, president and creator. He is the son of the school's chairman and is very happy-go-lucky type of person. He has a very interesting and sad past but dopesn't complain even a bit about it. He is also kind of the opposite of Haruhi being very emotional and sensitive, he gets hurt many times in the series but easily recovers. He overreacts most of the time which causes some of the members to ignore him. For me, he is very dense at times, and very childish too but one thing I am impressed of is that he is a great pianist.

Another member of interest is Ootori Kyouya whose family is in charge of the medical facilities of the school. He is the vice president of the club but is known to Haruhi as the Shadow King because he manipulates Tamaki on some, er many decisions. Kyouya is a silent type of person but very calculating, not only in terms of money but on his moves too. Kyouya is pretty interesting on his own way.

A very interesting character/s in the series is, oh are, the Hitachiin twins. Hikaru(older) and Kaoru(younger) Hitachiin who happens to be Haruhi's classmate. They look very much the same and it's hard to tell them apart, only Haruhi could tell who's who that is why they fell for her. They are very cocky and mischievous and are fond of making other people as their toys. Also, another trait they share is that they are insensitive but changed as the story goes on. Hikaru, however is the more childish of the two. Kaoru discovers Hikaru's feelings for Haruhi earlier than Hikaru himself.

The last two I'm going to introduce aren't twins but are much better discussed together(I wouldn't want to get kicked and punched, hehe). The two are cousins, one is named Mitsukuni Haninozuka, which is a short and cute guy and the other is Takashi Morinozuka who is the protector of the other. Haninozuka is fondly called Hunny while Morinozuka is Mori. Hunny looks defenseless but actually is a great martial artist. His family owns a dojo and trains the elite forces of Japan and other countries, while Mori's family, a long time ago, vows to protect Hunny's family. Mori is the champion in kendo, even though the protected-protector relationship was gone, Mori still wants to protect Hunny at all costs(even though he really doesn't need it). Both are silent members but they play, still an important role in the series. Pesonally, I really love, as in LOOOOOOVE Mori-kun and Hunny-kun. ;p

Thousands of things happen as romance, drama and most of all, comedy unfolds. The story is really really captivating. I personally recommend you to watch this series and fall in love with the gorgeous characters of the story. Have Fun. Kyoskete.
